Drink like a fish!
As we all know drinking and diving go hand in hand! From sunset beers to snorkel tests, it’s very important for Divemasters to know the best places to knock back a pint when the occasion demands. Here’s a list of five places to go to on the island that’ve been tried and tested by some of staff and students:
Blue Yogi – Cheapest happy hour
Let’s face it, we all like a good bargain, especially when it comes to cocktails! If this sounds good to you, Blue Yogi is the place to go! It’s hard to go wrong with IDR 40k cocktails from 17:00-20:00! If the price alone doesn’t sell you on them, the venue is right on the beach and the happy hour is just in time for sunset. Do we have your attention now?
Lionfish – Best cocktails in Jungutbatu
Ok, so you want a strong cocktail that tastes good and you’re willing to pay a little more for it… WE’VE GOT YOU! Lionfish is where you want to be! The venue is inside of Tigerlilly’s boutique hotel on the main road (fancy, right?), so it’s no surprise that you’ll be paying a little more than at Blue Yogi. Cue the age-old debate of quality over quantity (or vice versa). They have a 2-for-1 cocktail happy hour, which runs from 16:00-18:00!
Water Blow – Drinks with a view
Is it a special occasion? Or maybe you fancy something different? Then it’s got to be Water Blow! It’s got it all. Cliff top views and an awesome pool to chill in! A little off the beaten track, you’ll find Water Blow in Mushroom Bay, where you can enjoy a mesmerising view of the ocean as you wind down your afternoon.
Mickey’s – Casual beers and live sports
For those days where you just fancy a beer and a catch up you can’t go wrong with Mickey’s! Good prices, chilled vibes, and as a bonus, they show a wide variety of live sports. They also have a backup generator to make sure you don’t miss the game if the island has a power outage!
3 Monkeys – The “I’ll have one drink” bar
We’ve all been there! You think, “Yeah, sure, I’ll have one drink…” and then wake up the next morning not remembering portions of your evening! For anyone who’s spent time enjoying the island’s social scene, they know that 3 Monkeys is a great place to let loose a little and blow off some steam! It might seem like a casual place to shoot some pool or play a round of darts, but it’s usually not long before you’re on your 5thtequila shot!
